Benefit basketball tournament

RUMFORD -- The Mountain Valley Athletic Boosters are hosting a benefit basketball tournament this weekend.
The tournament will take place in Puiia Gymnasium at Mountain Valley High School, with games from 9 a.m. to 6:45 p.m. on Saturday, and from 9 a.m. to 4:35 p.m. on Sunday.
Seven teams will play 10 one-hour games on Saturday and eight more on Sunday.
The boosters will be selling food, with all the tournament proceeds going to the Danny Garneau Scholarship, which was started in the memory of Danny, a 2011 MVHS student who lost his battle with cancer.
The boosters are also looking to food donations and volunteers to assist throughout the weekend for this effort.
