Fundraisers for Garneau Scholarship

RUMFORD -- The MVHS Athletic Boosters and the Class 0f 2011 are teaming up to honor a classmate of theirs.

As most of us remember Danny Garneau passed away last year after fighting a long battle with leukemia.

The Class of 2011 and the MVHS Boosters are raising money to go towards The Danny Garneau Scholarship. We have a couple of fundraisers that will be happening at the high school, one is Pennies from Heaven, when each class will be having a "penny wars" competition to raise money. The class that raises the most will be rewarded (to be determined at a later time). The other is they are selling chocolate bars for a $1, which can be purchased from students or from the Office at the High School.

They have a committee made up of a few of Danny's friends and they have come up with scholarship criteria, which the hope will be an annual scholarship.

Any business, family or individual who would like to donate to the scholarship can do so by sending their donation to the Mtn. Valley High School, c/o the MVHS Athletic Boosters. For more information, call Leanne at 364-0890.
