GRCC welcome night a good time
RUMFORD -- August 28 at the GRCC was a good time for many greater Rumford community residents, with demonstrations and
refreshments.
Around 150 adults and children attended the open house. April McClain was the winner of a $50 door prize gift certificate, applicable to any GRCC program registration. Lynn Boothbay won five tickets to attend a Sea Dogs game. At least 40 youngsters received IRIS scans by the Rumford Police Department. It’s nice to know your child could be easily identified anywhere in the country, in an emergency situation.
Bob Anderson, GRCC program director said “about 80 young people were registered for fall activities during the evening.”
Programs include soccer, karate, judo, gymnastics, farming and forestry, flag football, basketball and baseball. Thanks to all who helped to make this an enjoyable evening and a community success! Visit at: www.GreaterRumfordCommunityCenter.org.
The GRCC Board of Directors voted to extend the half-price membership special, for non-Rumford residents, until September 15. That's only $76.50 for the "Family" membership for the year.
