Green Monsters Players of the Game
Charlie Houghton is one of the players of the game on May 9 against Bowdoin. This is Charlie’s first year with the Green Monsters.
He already had some baseball experience so it was easy to place him where the team needed help and that was at third base. He has a good arm with precise accuracy for making the position look easy. He had many stops and a solid throw to first base for a well needed out. He went 2-for-3 batting, with a single and a homerun that drove in three runs.
The energy he brings was well needed. He is the battery of this team that keeps players and coaches moving forward to accomplish our goals. I am grateful that I had a chance to pick him up in the draft to complete this team with his batting and fielding.
Dakota Tompkins is one of the players of the game on May 9 against Bowdoin. This is Dakotas second year with the Green Monsters.
He started practicing with the team back when his older brothers were on the team. He has the skills to play any position and make a difference no matter where he is placed. He plays first base and short stop with a solid glove and accurate passing. In this game he caught two pop flies, tagged two baserunners and many perfect passes to first base for outs. He went 4-for 4-batting with two doubles, two homeruns and a lot of RBIs.
He has stepped up to become a leader on the field with his knowledge of the game. He contributes so many things to this team it’s hard to name them all. Any coach would love to have him on their team. I know I do.
