MV Rec Basketball League action

MEXICO -- The Bethel Bobcats, Laid Back Installers and Hotel Rumford all are now 6-1 after action this past week.

LBI won as the benefit of a forfeit as Black Bear Industries (2-5) couldn't put a five some together and the others registered blow out victories.

Bethel Bobcats used their typical balanced attack to overwhelm Archies (1-6), 89-55. Ryan Savage swarmed and swooped in on Archies from both an offensive and defensive prospective and finished with 27 points (3 threes). Wage Osgood had 19 points and Matt Zetts had 13 to complement Savage. Archies was again led by Brett Archibauld with 17 points and Mike Holmquist with 14.

Hotel Rumford let up on The Thundercats (0-7) and still finished with a 125-39 lopsided victory. Chris Willer (31 points,6 threes) and Aaron St Pierre (30 points, 6 threes) were all The Hotel really needed, but were assisted by Dan Thibeault (18 points), Scot New (15 points), Craig Milledge (10 points) and Andy Shorey (10 points).

On Sunday, LBI and Hotel Rumford will break the 6-1 stalemate at 10 a.m. Hotel won the first outing. At 11:30, The Thundercats and Archies battle at the bottom of the standings. At 1 p.m., Black Bear Industries tries to regroup, but has a tough opponent in Bethel to contend with.
