Steelers tame the Wildcats
REGION -- The AYF Steelers win their season opener against the Turner Wildcats, 26-6.
Points for this competition were tallied by Mateo Lapointe (two touchdowns),Dylan Desroches (one TD and a two-point conversion) and Chase Clark (one TD).
Quarterback Cody Hemingway did an outstanding job getting the ball to his runningbacks and making key passes leading to touchdowns. Steelers racked up well over 200 rushing yards along with 100 passing yards.
Providing key blocks for the Steelers were Cameron Gray, Jacob True, Trey Tubbs, Cody Moretto, Dallas Berry, Tyler Stewart, TJ Payne, Conner Hall, Casey Cormier and Damien Arsenault. The Steelers defense held the wildcats to less than 50 yards rushing.
Putting some unwanted pressure on the Wildcat offense were Kalen Chase, Curtis Errington, Owen Libby, Bode Gray, Trent Holman, Preston Martin, Cam Dresser, Jonah Byam and Charlie Houghton.
All of the coaches are extremely proud of each and every player on the team!
Hunter Blauvelt was injured and he did not get a chance to play but he was there cheering his team on and helping out with the water during the game.
