Youth Soccer Challenge competition
RUMFORD -- All boy and girls ages 10 to 14 in the River Valley and Bethel areas are invited to participate in the local level of the Knights of Columbus Soccer Challenge being held on September 18 at 1 p.m. on the middle field in the Hosmer Field Complex.
In the event of inclement weather, the competition will be held the following Sunday, September 25, at 1 p.m. on the same field.
The Knights of Columbus Soccer Challenge is an annual event with winners progressing through local, district, and state level competitions. Winners in each age group at the local level will progress to the District Championships on October 29 in Bangor.
International Champions are announced through the K of C world headquarters in New Haven, CT on the basis of the state level competition scores. All boys and girls 10 to 14 years of age are eligible to participate and will compete in their respective age divisions.
All contestants at the local level are recognized for their participation in the event. Participants are required to furnish proof of age and parental consent.
